Tanel is hailed as the greatest hero of Meron. He was a warrior and a politician in a time when his people were oppressed and anyone with any power was in hiding. He trained an army and threw the Etanan conquerors out using guerilla warfare and intelligent tactics.
Though he didn’t unite the entire island, he reestablished his seat of power in Kassen and set about constructing a monarchy.
