Like Meroned, Aywen has a Subject-Verb-Object (with direct object coming before indirect) word order, just as in English. For example,
I (s.) carry (v.) the cat (d.o.) to her (i.o.)
could be rendered, very formally as
haneltai (s.) sufielisha (v.) ta athiir (d.o) yui ta qiltarimii (i.o.)
or, somewhat informally, as
anel (s.) sufiesh (v.) athiir (d.o.) yui yalam (i.o.)
In the less formal sentence, ta ("the") can be dropped; indeed, in everyday Aywen speech, articles are rarely voiced, but rather are implied.
