He had an obsession with history and his ancestors. According to what few records exist of him, he often spoke of wanting to be remembered as well as Myrelyr.
It was not to be. There were no epochs to be had during Matrien’s reign, and though it was fifteen years during which Meron agriculture expanded and most peasants paid their taxes without more complaint than usual, there was nothing remarkable about him and he, like so many of his relatives, passed into obscurity.
