Karbean Clergy

The Karbean clergy, established in 440 KM, consists of four basic tiers:

  1. Zaldesem, the supreme council, made up of three men who have devoted their lives to active service and teaching of the Karbean faith.
  2. Zaldesez, the secondary body. These are eight men in each major city of Meron whose job it is to oversee Karbean activities in the region.
  3. Horzalyo, the individual priests of the faith. They practice at temples and are sometimes retained by noblemen who wish to have a personal clergyman at their disposal. Unlike in the higher orders, they can be either male or female, though the majority are men.
  4. Kenadezo, scholars—men and women alike—who spend their lives in pursuit of knowledge pertaining to Karbea. Though they are not monks, many are people who did not have the social skills to become horzalyo.
